(Formerly known as Thượng Sơn Gushu Ripe)
 
A fantastic small batch ripe puerh production from some high elevation ancient tea tree gardens in Thượng Sơn, Hà Giang.
 
Ancient tree ripe puerh is not very common in my experience. I admit I was quite skeptical about the tea tree age/ quality claims of this tea when the seller first contacted me. He was a new contact so I'd had no prior knowledge of him or his business. I went to his tea shop and he brewed up the tea. Tried one cup and immediately believed him.
 
This tea was chosen not to be pressed in order to keep the big, full leaves intact and to increase the speed of aging..
 
This tea brews up much slower than your average ripe puerh cake due to the full leaves. You can essentially brew this tea for as long as you want without it overbrewing.
 
Brews up a thick sweet cocoa and forest wood soup. Lots of clouds on the top of the cup. Immediate huigan and strong relaxing qi.
 
This is quite the rare tea and we are happy to be able to add it to the collection!
