A unique, ball-rolled style low- medium oxidation oolong tea produced from wild growing old/ ancient trees in Túng Sán, Hoàng Su Phì, Hà Giang.
This tea was produced by a Taiwanese tea maker who has been making tea for many years. He has been producing teas from wild growing Assamica trees in Hà Giang since 2014.
The dry leaf has just a light floral fragrance. Upon first infusion, a powerful bouquet of meadow flowers emerges. This tea brews up into a thick hazy soup. The flavor is in the meadow flower range. Heavy sweet cream sweetness and fragrance with a low- medium bitterness depending on how you brew it.
As a Puerh tea lover, the rich mouthfeel and long lasting huigan really hooks me and keeps me coming back for more. Good raw material offers a nice qi effect. Great tea to keep you cool on hot days.
I believe this tea offers a great contrast to the Sunset Old Tree Oolong. Drinking this tea really reminds me of dawn in the tea mountains so I felt the name “Sunrise” was suitable.
I like to brew this one at 85-95 for shorter and then longer steeps. Can be a bit tricky to brew and can get bitter if oversteeped.
