Very carefully handmade teapot/ gaiwan lid holders produced in Hanoi by an artisan who has been making rattan products for many years.

The inner frame is made from rattan and the interwoven strands are made from a plant called cây guột or forked fern in English.

You can see just how much effort goes into making these stands with how many strands are used and how the inner frame is completely covered.

These are a great addition to any gong fu cha style tea table and are an additionally good choice for people who are clumsy (like Steve) to help prevent breaking teaware.

These lid holders are highly durable and will darken over time as tea is spilled on them.

Keep them dry between uses and they will last a long time.
